USS Sachem volunteering
If you are willing give some time and be involved in the preservation of the historic ship USS Sachem, please fill this form so we know who can participate for future tasks or workdays and recontact you. There is no engagement, this will only help us adjust our needs. As of May 2023, I do not know when it will be possible to work on the ship. When we have all green lights, the first phase will be to :
Assess, document, clean and stabilize the ship
And we will need volunteers to : clear the ship’s deck from mud and greenery, clean the lower deck and secure access, on a Saturday and/or a Sunday. (located at the border of IN, KY and OH) We also urgently seek attorney and maritime law counseling, and nonprofit management & grant-writing skills.
